We are currently looking for a KS2 Teaching Assistant to provide support in our client primary school in Brent.
The school is in an excellent location with public transport links including Kilburn, Brondesbury and Brondesbury Park station within walking distance of the school to ensure easy accessibility.
You will be expected to be a support 3 pupils in a Year 4 class that have varying degrees of Autism. You will need to support them with their academic, social and emotional development as well as incorporating effective strategies and interventions to manage behaviour and build up positive relationships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment and make a real difference to the children’s learning. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with young people, a good understanding of the national curriculum and strong communication skills.
The KS2 Teaching Assistant is responsible for assisting the teacher in the implementation of lesson plans and supporting the teacher in the following job duties:
- Assisting the teacher in maintaining classroom discipline and providing feedback to students regarding classroom management
- Assisting the teacher with implementing lesson plans and supporting the teacher in lesson planning
- Leading interventions in small groups to raise attainment and reach set targets
- Maintaining classroom supplies including paper, markers, crayons, pens, glue sticks, markers, books, etc.
- Communicating with parents regarding their child’s progress in a timely manner
