Ortus Recruitment is actively seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Year 1 TA to become a valued member of one of our client’s mainstream schools situated in Neasden, within the London borough of Brent. This school boasts a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a team of highly supportive staff dedicated to providing comprehensive training and ongoing assistance to the right candidate.

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll be an integral part of a Year 1 general class, focusing on supporting a pupil who requires additional assistance in their academic journey due to dyslexia and low functioning autism. Despite these challenges, the pupil is sociable and displays positive behavior. However, they do need consistent support to stay focused and comprehend the coursework. Your primary responsibilities will involve working closely with this student, providing individualised attention, and employing strategies to aid their understanding and progress.

The ideal Candidate:

• Proactive and reliable
• Passionate about working with children
• At least 3-6 months of classroom experience
• SEN experience or knowledge
• Level 3 teaching qualification or a degree
• Must be able to work Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Candidates must:

• Have an enhanced DBS on the update service/ willing to apply for a new one
• Right to work in the UK
• 2 References
