We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 ASC Teaching Assistant to support a student with Autism Spectrum Condition in Year 2.

The Role:

As a 1:1 ASC Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored support to a student with Autism Spectrum Condition to ensure their academic and social development 📚🤝
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies 📝
• Use specialized techniques and resources to engage and motivate the student 🎨🔍
• Assist the student in developing communication, social interaction, and independent living skills 💬🧩
• Monitor and record the student’s progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and parents 📈📋
• Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner 🧘‍♂️
• Foster a safe and supportive learning environment for the student 🌟

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one support during classroom activities, ensuring the student remains focused and engaged 🏫
• Adapt teaching materials to meet the specific needs of the student 🛠️
• Assist with personal care tasks as required, ensuring the student’s dignity and comfort 🧼
• Encourage positive social interactions with peers 👫
• Support the student during school transitions and routines 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
• Collaborate with external professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to implement recommended strategies 🤝

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition or similar needs is essential ✔️
• A relevant qualification in special education, childcare, or a related field is desirable 🎓
• Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition and effective support strategies 🧠
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs 💖
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 🗣️
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively 🌈
