We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our Year 1 class and make a positive impact on our young learners.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant in our Year 1 class, you will:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of students.
- Provide one-on-one and small group assistance to children with diverse learning needs.
- Help prepare and organize classroom materials and resources.
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents as needed.
- Support students with daily routines and transitions.
- Foster a safe and engaging learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver tailored educational activities.
- Assist children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Promote positive behavior and encourage student participation.
- Use creative and innovative approaches to engage and motivate students.
- Provide support during school trips and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or special educational needs is advantageous.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the diverse needs of students.
