Here at Ortus Recruitment we are working alongside a vibrant Mainstream Primary School, located in the London Borough of Lewisham, Lee Green. The Primary School are seeking someone to join their ever growing staff team, and hit the ground running in a role where you will be working 1:1 alongside a student in Year 5 who has challenging behaviour. The school has a car park and is located next to two train stations and has excellent bus links, which makes commuting easy. The school is Ofsted Rated ‘Good’ and previous feedback from staff we have placed there, highlights the positive working environment and relationship between staff.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be able to start immediately, and can commit to Full time, Long term work (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00).
• Will have experience managing challenging behaviour with children, either in a care, school or social setting.
• Will be eager and enthusiastic in beginning a rewarding new career in education and open to Teacher Training and CPD courses to upskill candidates and open doors for career progression
• Will be able to easily build a rapport with children and staff
• Will be able to ensure and maintain a safe working environment for children
• Will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

The main responsibilities within this role are to work alongside the Class Teacher and other professionals such as the BSL (Behaviour Support Lead) and the SENCO, to  ensure the pupil is getting the necessary support they need. You will be tasked with working 1:1 with a pupil in Year 5 who has challenging behaviour. The pupil you will be supporting will be on a behaviour support plan and you will need to liaise with the necessary people to provide detailed daily feedback and progress reports.
