Ortus Recruitment are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our partnered mainstream primary school in Wandsworth. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by offering tailored 1:1 support, small group interventions, and in-class assistance. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education, with a patient and proactive approach to supporting children’s academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised support to pupils with additional learning needs, helping them engage fully in classroom activities.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy sessions, adapting materials where necessary.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment.
• Support with supervision during transitions, playtimes, and school activities.

Requirements:

• A degree or relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, Sciences, Drama, or a related field.
• Previous experience supporting children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, childcare, or voluntary roles).
• Excellent communication skills, patience, and enthusiasm for supporting pupils of all abilities.
• A genuine interest in developing a career within education.
