1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Willesden

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Willesden is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This rewarding role involves supporting two pupils with additional needs across the school:

  • A Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
  • A nursery-aged child with suspected ASC (currently awaiting diagnosis)

Both pupils require consistent 1:1 support, including personal care, and benefit from a patient, nurturing, and structured approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to meet each child’s individual needs
  • Assist with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
  • Implement strategies to support communication, behaviour, and engagement
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have significant experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC
  • Be confident supporting pupils with complex needs and personal care
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and committed to making a difference
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
