As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support. The successful candidate will be based in a specialised unit and will help foster a safe and encouraging learning environment, tailored to meet the needs of each individual child.

• Start Date: Immediate
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
• Contract: Long-term, full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with challenging behaviour and complex SEN, including Autism
• Assist with personal care where necessary
• Support academic, emotional, and social development
• Collaborate with teachers and other support staff
• Contribute to a structured, consistent, and nurturing environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Strong behaviour management skills
• Experience working with children with SEN in either an educational or care setting
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Experience mentoring young people or working in a behavioural support role is highly desirable

Essential Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Ortus Recruitment)
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
