Ortus Recruitment is working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Ealing (W5) to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and communication needs. The school also has a fantastic on-site SEN provision for pupils with complex learning needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or experienced TAs who want to build a career in education, SEN, or educational psychology.

Key Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with a Year 2 pupil diagnosed with ASC and SEMH.
• Provide emotional, behavioural, and academic support throughout the school day.
• Deliver structured interventions and help implement EHCP targets.
• Support the pupil’s development in line with teacher planning and SEN strategies.
• Assist the wider class and occasionally support in the SEN provision with pupils aged 4–11.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We welcome applications from:

• Graduates in Psychology, Education, Childhood Studies, or similar
• Teaching Assistants with at least 6 months’ experience in a UK school or nursery
• Individuals with experience supporting SEN, ASC, SEMH, or speech & language needs
• Confident communicators who are patient, nurturing, and proactive
• Candidates with additional skills like PECS, Makaton, or Team Teach (not essential)
