ASC Teaching Assistant – Croydon

A well renowned Primary School in the Croydon borough have a fantastic opportunity for anyone seeking a position supporting Special Educational Needs.

The Headteacher of this dynamic school is looking for someone who is driven and dedicated to helping children excel in their learning. Your daily duties will include helping a child in year 5 with mild Autism with their studies.

The role:

• Taking the pupil out the classroom for extracurricular activities
• Breaking down classwork with the pupil to ensure they are understanding
• Helping the child get involved with peers and encourage creative ideas
• Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons
• Prepare worksheets and assist with other admin tasks

Requirements:

• Experience working within a classroom setting
• Have experience working with SEN, particularly Autism
• Be a clear communicator and excellent writing skills
• Good academic background
• Understanding of the primary curriculum
• A caring and patient approach
