Here at Ortus Recruitment we have a unique opportunity for one of our candidates to join one of our fantastic Pupil Referral Units, who are seeking someone with experience managing challenging behaviour and working alongside SEN learners to join their ever growing staff team, on an immediate, full time, long term (September 2023 ongoing) basis.

The Job Information:

• Position: Behaviour Intervention Lead – SEMH
• Pay: £95 – £105 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Rotherhithe
• Role: Full time, Long term (Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working in an SEN provision, ideally a Pupil Referral Unit but it’s not desired
• Have experience managing challenging behaviour or experience working alongside learners with SEMH
• Be passionate about working alongside SEN learners and helping them develop academic, social and emotional skills
• Have a natural kind and nurturing nature
• Will be patient, resilient and have quick problem solving skills
• Will have TWO obtainable childcare relevant references
• Will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

Your main responsibilities within this role will be to work alongside the SENCO, Class Teachers, Professionals (school therapists) and the Parents/Carers to provide feedback on the pupils academic and behavioural progress as well as to ensure the pupils are receiving the necessary support. You will be required to assist Class Teachers in managing challenging behaviour by leading 1:1 behaviour interventions where you will help the pupil reflect on their behaviour and identify what changes they can make to improve upon it. You will be working with pupils across KS2 and KS3.
