Ortus recruitment are currently seeking for an experienced graduate Behaviour Mentor to work on a full-time basis with our partnered SEN school. The school is based in Streatham hill with superb transportation links, and they have an excellent senior leadership team, who will provide support when needed this is a demanding role which will require patience and care. This is a great opportunity for experienced teaching assistants and candidates who have experience working with challenging behaviour.

What does the role entail?

• Building rapport and trusting relationships for progression of learning
• Helping challenging students overcome their behavioural issues
• Liaising with the SLT/SENCO
• Being a proactive and positive role model
• Leading 1:1 sessions with the pupil in question
• Making a difference in the life of disadvantaged children

Requirements:

• Graduate of a core subject (Maths, English, Science, Psychology, Drama)
• Experience working with children in a professional environment
• Experience working with SEN (desirable not essential)
• Able to develop positive relationships
• Excellent time management and organisation skills
• Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour
