Here at Ortus Recruitment we are looking for an Experienced Behaviour Mentor, to join one of our vibrant SEN Provisions, a Pupil Referral Unit, located in the London Borough of Southwark, Peckham. This PRU is Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ due to their academic success. This is a result of their diverse and inclusive approach to teaching pupils as well as the positive working relationship between staff. This is a provision where staff wellbeing is prioritised.

The requirements:

· Must have experience supporting children in a care, residential, school or social setting

· Must have experience managing challenging behaviour or have completed relevant CPD courses

· Must be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to helping them develop important life skills such as emotional, mental and social skills

· Must be patient and resilient as this role can be challenging

· Must be able to easily build a positive rapport with pupils and staff

· Must have 2 obtainable relevant references

· Must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS

Within this role, you will be required to support a pupil in Year 6 with SEMH and challenging behaviour. You will be their 1:1 and will be responsible for supporting them with work in class and supervising them in class and around the school building. This pupil is rewarded for academic achievement with enrichment activities, these include, 1 hour in the gaming room, trips to football stadiums and theme parks, time in sensory rooms, you will be required to supervise the learner with all of these activities.
