Ortus recruitment are seeking a Teaching Assistant who is experienced in managing challenging behaviour to join one of our primary schools located in Southeast London, Forest Hill.

The ideal candidate will have experience working alongside children and/or young people with challenging behaviour or special educational needs. The ideal candidate will need to have a natural resilient nature as this role has potential to be demanding, we need the candidate to be positive and able to create a positive rapport with pupils and staff. A strong academic background is required, a degree is desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate will have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment (£52).

Within this role the successful candidate will be required to support a year 2 pupil with challenging behaviour. Your main role will be to help the pupil engage in learning and have a positive attitude to work. You may be required to supervise the learner on movement breaks during lessons to help regain concentration and also liaise closely with the class teacher, parents/carers and the professionals to ensure the learner is getting the necessary help they need.
