Your duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate positive and proactive attitudes and behaviours
- Demonstrate good practice, in regard to special educational needs and inclusion
- Work in partnership with parents
- Ensure the environment is safe, clean, tidy, and well presented at all times
- Effectively support the teacher and students within the classroom
- Confidently engage and support the students within the classroom and with their learning
- Support students either on a one-to-one basis or small groups
- Assist students with personal care, feeding and administer medication
- Ensure safe travel and support during trips
- Complete formal termly reviews and keep accurate records regarding students’ progress
- Demonstrate a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team
- Promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professional agencies to provide effective support for learning activities
- Awareness of and work within school policies and procedures
Your requirements
- Have a valid in-date Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service)
- You must possess behavioural management skills and organisation skills
- Have a resilient character and a strong personal drive
- Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
- Knowledge and experience of pupils with SEMH, ASD
- Good Communication skills both written and verbal
