The Role:
As a General Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering lessons and provide additional help to students who need extra guidance. You will play a vital role in the classroom, helping to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, providing support to students as needed.
- Work with small groups or individual students, offering targeted support to help them understand and complete tasks.
- Help to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Support students with SEN by adapting activities and resources to meet their individual needs.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to assessments.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging student engagement and participation.
About You:
We are seeking a friendly, adaptable, and proactive individual who enjoys working with children and supporting their learning. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children in a school or similar setting, ideally with some experience supporting SEN students.
- A good understanding of the school curriculum and the ability to assist with a range of subjects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A flexible and collaborative approach to working in a team environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are desirable.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
