KS1 Teaching Assistant

Our client school in the London Borough of Camden is currently looking for a KS1 Teaching Assistant who can be proactive, take initiative and communicate effectively. You will be responsible for supporting on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with pupils that have Special Educational Needs.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
– Create and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
– Provide instruction to students, including those with Special Educational Needs
– Use various teaching methods and techniques to engage students and enhance their learning experience
– Assess student progress and provide feedback on their academic performance
– Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
– Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, diversity, and empathy
– Utilize technology and educational resources to enhance instruction and student engagement
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behaviour
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
– Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special education needs, is highly desirable
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues
– Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
– Knowledge of educational best practices and instructional techniques for KS1 pupil
– Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
