Ortus Recruitment is looking for an experienced and dedicated Primary KS1 Teaching Assistant. We require someone who is passionate about working with children and has a love for teaching.

Our client school located in the London Borough of Haringey, is in search of an eager and initiative-taking candidate to become a part of their team. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with the classroom teacher to handle student behaviour, spark student interest in the curriculum, oversee recess activities, and communicate with parents and caregivers.

In order to thrive in this position, it’s important to possess strong communication abilities and maintain a positive outlook. Additionally, the capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is crucial. While prior experience in a primary school environment and/or a degree in education, psychology, or a related field is beneficial, it is not mandatory.

Teaching Assistant Expectations:

• Strong academic background
• Excellent communication skills
• Confidently lead interventions e.g. numeracy/literacy/reading
• Have a can-do attitude
• Ability to take initiative and be proactive
• Promote positive social, emotional, and personal development
• 3+ months experience in a classroom setting
• Knowledge of the primary school curriculum
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS
