Ortus Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Classroom Assistant to join our vibrant affiliated mainstream primary school based in Roehampton. As a classroom assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to support the learning and development of our Key Stage 2 students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on children’s educational journey and contribute to their overall growth.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons in accordance with the KS2 curriculum.
• Support individual students or small groups in their learning, providing guidance and encouragement.
• Help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for learning.
• Collaborate with the teacher in planning and preparing educational materials and resources.
• Provide feedback on students’ progress and behaviour to the class teacher.
• Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Help to supervise students during break times and school activities.
• Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as record keeping and organizing classroom resources.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, caring, and approachable attitude towards students.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Relevant degree in subjects such as English, Psychology, Performing Arts, Maths, Science or similar, however we welcome candidates with other degrees and relevant qualifications for working with children
