KS2 Classroom Support Assistant

Ortus Recruitment are currently working alongside a mainstream primary school in the Lambeth area who are seeking for an experience Classroom Support Assistant to accommodate a KS2 class working alongside the Class Teacher. This school has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and want to recruit a Candidate, who is passionate about education; willing to go above and beyond to provide the education that is required for their pupils.

The Role:

The role will mainly involve supporting students in the classroom, including catering to the vulnerable children in the class with SEN. The role will require you to be proactive, patient, and flexible as you will have to work 1:1 within the class with your key child. The primary school has a supportive senior leadership team that wants the best for all their pupils and want all students to flourish within their early stages of learning. This position will be a full-time vacancy and the successful candidate will be offered a trial day/interview with the school.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a core subject (Maths, English, Science, Psychology, Drama)
  • Have experience working with children in a professional environment
  • Have experience working with SEN experience (desirable)
  • Be able to develop positive relationships with young children
  • Committed to working as part of a team in conjunction with the class teacher, and under direction of the leadership team, ensure that the progress of children is monitored and tracked
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Able to provide regular feedback to class teachers
  • Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour
  • Fully Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on Update Service (or willing to apply)
