The Job Information:

• Position: Learning Mentor
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden Agency/Umbrella Company Fees
• Location: Southwark, Nunhead
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

The main responsibilities within this role are supporting learners both 1:1 and in small groups, working closely with learners who are behind their target level and require additional support to raise there academic levels in specific subjects. You will be required to assist the Class Teacher in preparing differentiated work that suits the learners needs, then liaise with the Class Teacher and provide feedback on how the pupils got on. You will be tasked with leading phonics sessions, to small groups of learners and be able to. You will need to undertake administrative tasks such as helping to update display boards, helping to prepare work (photocopying/laminating worksheets), marking classwork/homework and signing reading diaries.

The requirements:

• You will need to have experience as working alongside children in a school setting, private tutoring is also welcome
• You will need to be confident in leading 1:1 and/or small group interventions
• You will need to be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to helping them develop academically
• You will need to have a kind and nurturing nature
• You will need to be able to build a positive rapport with both pupils and staff
• You must have TWO obtainable, childcare relevant references
• You must have a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
