Ortus Recruitment is currently seeking a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and welcoming mainstream primary school in the heart of Southwark. ⭐ What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to children across the classroom
• Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons
• Supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them reach their full potential
• Encouraging social interaction and engagement during group activities
• Helping with homework, classwork and learning materials
• Ensuring the classroom is a well-organised, safe, and inclusive space
• Supporting after-school clubs or additional activities when needed
• Handling light administrative tasks such as printing, filing and resource preparation
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

🎯 What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children in a classroom setting (preferred)
• Understanding or experience working with SEN/SEMH needs (preferred)
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
• A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development
• Strong communication skills and a team player mindset
