Ortus Recruitment, a specialist recruitment agency in education, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and patient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a [primary/secondary/SEN] school in [Location]. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are committed to inclusive education and want to play a vital role in supporting student development.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Assist teachers in creating a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
• Adapt learning materials to suit the needs of individual pupils
• Encourage student participation and independence
• Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and SENCOs
• Support with personal care tasks if required (dependent on setting)

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people (ideally within a school or SEN setting)
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Diploma)
• Experience with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or behavioural challenges
