Learning Support Assistant | Clapham | £75 – £90 per day PAYE | Monday – Friday (08:30am – 16:00pm)

Ortus Recruitment is excited to offer a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school located in the vibrant area of Clapham Junction, London. Our partnered school is a vibrant and welcoming community that is dedicated to improving the core skills of its students and is renowned for its approachable and supportive staff.

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children with special needs by providing them with individualized support and guidance. You will work closely with the class teacher, special education needs coordinator, and other support staff to ensure that each child reaches their full potential. This role is perfect for outgoing individuals who have experience working with children who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
• Experience working with challenging behaviours
• PRICE, MAPA or Team Teach training is desirable but not essential
• A background in Youth Work, Behavioural Support in Education, Social Work, Sports organizations or a relevant degree in Psychology, Education, English, Maths or Science
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build rapport with pupils and work in a team
• Flexibility and willingness to commit to a long-term, full-time role
• Experience working in a similar role is essential
• Confidence when it comes to working with autism is required
