Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team at our school in the Merton Borough of London. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with SEND to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with SEND in the classroom and in small group settings
- Providing one-to-one support to students as needed
- Assisting the class teacher in the planning and preparation of materials and resources that are inclusive and meet the needs of students with SEND
- Supporting the development of students’ literacy and numeracy skills through differentiated instruction
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Keeping accurate records and monitoring students’ progress to inform instruction
- Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure student success
- Collaborating with the SEND team to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 2 Learning Support Assistant Qualification
- Experience working with students with SEND
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A team player with the ability to work collaboratively
