Job Summary:

• Immediate start, ongoing throughout the academic year

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our fantastic mainstream primary schools on a full term basis with the opportunity of a permanent contract in Easter.

Within this role you will be expected to provide one to one or small group support to pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring the work meets their individual needs. You will be required to liaise with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. You will need to implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive attitude to learning. You may be required to undertake administrative duties such as photocopying/laminating worksheets and updating/removing display boards.

Must have:

• An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum grade C in GCSE English and Math

Requirements:

• Previous experience working alongside children in a care, residential, school or social settings
• A strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (Desired, not essential)
• An understanding of the British curriculum ad of various special educational needs
• A patient and empathetic approach to working with pupils
• The ability to build a positive rapport with both staff and students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
