Ortus Recruitment is urgently seeking an unqualified Learning Support Assistant with 3-6 months continuous SEN experience to join a mainstream primary school in Wood Green from September. What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the class teacher to plan and deliver daily activities that engage pupils.
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to children with additional learning needs, including SEN.
• Assisting with classroom preparation and tidying to create a positive learning environment.
• Helping with administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and displaying pupil work.
• Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to support children’s progress and wellbeing.
• Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all children in your care.

What we’re looking for:

• 3-6 months continuous experience working with SEN children in a school or similar setting (essential).
• Confidence in supporting children with a range of learning needs in a mainstream classroom.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and teachers.
• Patience, flexibility, and a caring, friendly approach.
• A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
