Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join one of our amazing Mainstream Primary School, on a full time, long term basis. The school itself are Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ and they pride themselves on the positive working relationship amongst staff as well as the diverse and inclusive learning environment provided to the pupils.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to go onto a long term contract with the school (dependent on performance) and will be provided with CPD Courses and Teacher Training Opportunities to further knowledge.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A Clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52
• Two obtainable childcare relevant references
• A minimum Grade C in GCSE English and Math

What you will be doing:

Within this role, you will be working as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting the Class Teacher in a Year 6 classroom, helping to prepare the pupils for their SATS. You will be working with pupils who need additional support in raising their academic attainment levels with both 1:1 and small group interventions on core subjects.

You will need to assist the class teacher in preparing learning materials and run classroom activities when needed, this may include undertaking some administrative duties such as, marking classwork/homework, updating/removing display boards and  liaising with class teacher, SENCO and parents/carers to provide feedback on pupil progress.
