Job Description:
We are currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with varying learning needs, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Support students in both classroom and one-on-one settings
- Help to prepare and adapt learning materials and resources
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere for all students
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school activities
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant experience or qualifications in education/childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Basic understanding of child development and educational practices
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a school setting
- Experience supporting children with SEN
- First Aid certification
