Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support classroom activities, provide individualized support to students, and contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
- Support individual and small group learning activities
- Help to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
- Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Prepare classroom materials and resources
- Assist in the assessment and recording of student progress
- Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and on school trips
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant experience or qualifications in education/childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Basic knowledge of child development and educational practices
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable:
- Previous experience working in a school setting
- Experience supporting children with SEN
- First Aid certification
