We are looking for a remarkable teaching assistant to work at one of our leading OFSTED partner schools in Croydon. This role would be in a mainstream school so you will be delegated to support the classroom teacher and assist pupils with their learning. We welcome candidates who wish to take on a fulfilling challenging position.

You will collaborate with the classroom teacher and other teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

The ideal candidate:

• Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.

• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.

• Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

Requirements:

• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting students with ASD.

• Ability to show empathy, compassion and resilience

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
