SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant | Mill Hill
Ortus Recruitment are looking to recruit a proactive and resilient teaching assistant with experience working with SEN children, to support in a Year 2 class working on a 1:1 basis with a child that has ASD.

The ideal candidate will:
- Be proactive, reliable and patient
- Work alongside class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, keep classroom organised and liaise with parents/carers
- Support autistic child on a 1:1 basis to raise attainment and promote positive development
- Lead numeracy, phonics and literacy interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels and reach set targets
- Confidently engage pupils with the KS1 curriculum
Main Expectations:
- 3+ months experience supporting SEN (desirable)
- Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
- Strong numeracy/literacy skills
- Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum (desirable)
- Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
