Ortus Recruitment are excited to present the opportunity for a resilient and motivated individual to take on the fulfilling role of SEN EYFS/KS1 Teaching Assistant in an inclusive Primary school in the London Borough of Barnet – a vibrant area filled with an abundance of shops, cafes, parks and transport links.

The role:

• Have a nurturing and empathetic approach to teaching
• Have a can-do attitude
• Lead 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. numeracy, phonics and literacy
• Encourage participation from SEN pupil and support where necessary to overcome learning barriers
• Strong communication skills to liaise with parents and assist class teacher effectively

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting children with SEN on 1:1 basis
• EYFS and/or KS1 classroom experience
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy capabilities
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
