Are you an experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant looking for the opportunity to support Year 6 children in their preparation for SATs?

Ortus Recruitment are looking to recruit an assertive and proactive individual to take on the fulfilling role of Year 6 Teaching Assistant to support and encourage children as they embark on the journey towards SATs.

This is a mainstream, Ofsted-rated ‘good’ school that is situated in a lovely area of Camden with multiple bus routes nearby to ensure easy accessibility. The pupils are friendly and always ready to learn – and with your dedication to the role, the pupils will be able to reach their full potentials and further excel in their final year before secondary school.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ability to take initiative, be proactive and be assertive
• Work alongside class teacher to manage classroom behaviour, keep classroom organised and liaise with parents/carers
• Build excellent rapports with staff and pupils
• Lead numeracy and literacy interventions in small groups to raise low attainment levels and reach set targets

Main Expectations:

• 3+ experience supporting children in UKS2
• Minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education or Level 3 qualification (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/literacy skills
• Knowledge of the KS2 curriculum (desirable)
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
