An inclusive and nurturing primary school in West Drayton, Hillingdon is looking for a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 SEN support for a pupil who requires tailored educational and emotional guidance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a genuine impact in a child’s school experience, with an immediate start available.
About the Role
As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping a child access learning, develop confidence, and thrive both academically and socially within the classroom setting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering focused 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs
- Supporting learning activities tailored to the child’s individual needs and EHCP targets
- Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction
- Working collaboratively with the Class Teacher, SENCo, and wider support staff
- Monitoring progress and contributing to strategies that enhance the pupil’s development
- Creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a patient, understanding, and enthusiastic individual who is committed to helping children reach their full potential.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN, including needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties, or SEMH
- A calm, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- A genuine passion for supporting children in education
