Ortus Recruitment is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant, with a Psychology degree and proven track record supporting challenging behaviour, to work 1:1 on a fulltime basis in a Battersea based mainstream Primary School.

Our partner school is successful, friendly and high achieving. They have recently had a EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) put in place for one of their pupils, giving additional funding for a member of staff to support their behaviour in class.

We are keen to find a Teaching Assistant with clear examples of tackling challenging behaviour and improving results. The school require a proactive, committed and resilient Teaching Assistant who can support a child who struggles with authority.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will be intelligent, confident and flexible with the ability to make significant progress with an extremely challenging child, not only in the pupil’s negative behaviour patterns, but also academically and socially.

The child can be verbally abusive but with the right guidance does enjoy learning, the successful candidate will need a strong academic background as well as firm behaviour management skills.
