SEN Teaching Assistant

Ortus Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Kennington, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a school community that is committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities for all children, especially those with additional needs. The role involves working with a small group of SEN pupils in the school’s newly developed, well-resourced SEN space, under the direct guidance and support of the school’s SENDCo.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with a variety of Special Educational Needs (e.g. Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
- Be patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting pupils to thrive academically, socially and emotionally
- Demonstrate high expectations for all pupils and the ability to inspire and motivate them
- Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider support team
- Hold a minimum of GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English

- Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
- Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
- Pay: £90–£105 per day (PAYE – no umbrella deductions)
