SEN Teaching Assistant | Brent | £85 – £105 Daily PAYE
The team at Ortus Recruitment work in collaboration with Primary/SEN schools and bring them together with individuals looking for opportunities in the education sector. We are dedicated to providing specialised and ongoing support to educators looking for full-time and long-term roles within schools in their local area. We work with a number of schools, all rated ‘Good‘ or ‘Outstanding‘ by Ofsted, with supportive senior leadership teams and opportunities for further career progression.
We are liaising with a multi-cultural and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Brent. They are looking for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide additional support to children with Special Educational Needs.
Responsibilities:
– Provide support to teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities
– Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies
– Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who require additional support
– Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Collaborate with teachers to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
– Utilise effective communication skills to interact with students, parents, and other staff members
– Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
Requirements:
– Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN
– Knowledge of special education strategies and interventions
– Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with educators, parents, and pupils
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help children succeed and develop
– Ability to effectively manage behaviour and act as a positive role model
– Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse and complex needs of students
Preferred Skills:
– Experience working with primary aged children
– Familiarity with working with SEN children and children with behavioural needs
