Salary: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Do you have the skills and dedication to provide tailored support to students and help them achieve their potential? We are looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a diverse school in Addiscombe, Croydon.

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have various SEN, including autism, dyslexia, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. Your role will involve providing individualised support, assisting with classroom activities, and helping students to access the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, ensuring their needs are met in the classroom.
  • Assist in adapting learning materials and strategies to make the curriculum accessible for students with SEN.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Use positive behaviour management techniques to support students with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Monitor student progress and keep detailed records, providing feedback to the SENCO, teachers, and parents.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, encouraging student independence and self-confidence.

About You:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient, and resourceful individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with SEN. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
  • A good understanding of SEN and the ability to adapt support methods to meet individual needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working in a dynamic educational environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or childcare are desirable.
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
