Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Support (Year 3)

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A supportive primary school in Thornton Heath is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 3 pupil diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This role will focus on helping the child to engage with learning, develop social communication skills, and build confidence in a structured classroom environment.

The Role:

• Provide tailored one-to-one support for a Year 3 pupil with ASC
• Encourage engagement with learning activities using structured routines
• Support the development of social and emotional regulation skills
• Adapt classroom materials to suit the pupil’s needs
• Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external specialists

About You:

• Experience supporting children with Autism is highly desirable
• Patient, nurturing, and able to remain calm under pressure
• Knowledge of strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Makaton is an advantage
• Committed to creating an inclusive learning environment
