Ortus Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wandsworth, currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their nurturing team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be working in the school’s Nurture Room – a structured, therapeutic space designed to support pupils with additional needs emotionally and academically.

About the Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex SEND, including ASD and ADHD.
• Help children develop self-regulation, confidence and positive social interactions.
• Implement strategies aligned with EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
• Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCO, therapists and families to provide holistic support.
• Contribute to a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs.
• Is nurturing, patient, resilient and calm under pressure.
• Understands or is eager to learn about trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
• Is a strong communicator and works well as part of a team.
• Believes that all children can thrive with the right support and encouragement.
