Currently, we work with several schools who require strong support staff specializing in catering to the needs of children with speech, language, and communication needs, ensuring they receive the personalized attention and support they deserve. Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dynamic team of supply SEN Teaching Assistants! The successful candidate will work closely with children who have speech, language, and communication needs, providing essential support to enhance their learning experience. You will collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and facilitate effective communication within the classroom
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SLCN
- Assist in the implementation of IEPs and other tailored educational programs
- Work closely with teachers to adapt classroom materials and activities to meet the needs of students with SLCN
- Support students in developing their communication skills through various methods, including the use of visual aids, technology, and interactive activities
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Attend training sessions and professional development workshops as required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with speech, language, and communication needs.
- A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our students.
