Teaching and Learning Assistant
We’re working with a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school based in Clapham, who are on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Teaching and Learning Assistant to join their team this November. This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a setting that prioritises children’s wellbeing, inclusive practice, and teamwork. This role is focused on supporting children with SEND, particularly in a SEMH-style provision (social, emotional and mental health) embedded within the school. The right candidate will have the chance to work closely with the school’s specialist SEND teacher to support pupils across EYFS and the Primary phase. This is a hands-on and rewarding role, perfect for someone who is committed, resilient, and genuinely motivated to make a positive impact on the lives of children.
What the school is looking for:
- Someone with experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly SEMH needs
- A calm, confident, and adaptable support professional with a proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both pupils and adults
- Previous experience in a school or nursery setting (EYFS and/or Primary)
- A real belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed
- Someone who’s team-oriented, but also comfortable using their initiative
What the school offers:
- A welcoming, supportive, and skilled staff team
- Pupils who are full of potential and personality
- A culture that genuinely values work-life balance
- A chance to be part of a forward-thinking, community-centred school
If the school feels your profile is the right fit, trial days will be held in September as part of the shortlisting process.
