Teaching Assistant

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them access learning and develop confidence in the classroom. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and academic progress.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils across the primary age range within the classroom.
- Deliver targeted support on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings.
- Encourage positive learning behaviours and engagement.
- Assist with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to meet pupils’ individual needs.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has experience working with children in a school, childcare, youth work, coaching, or similar setting.
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential.
- Is passionate about helping children succeed academically and personally.
- Possesses strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Is patient, calm, and able to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
- Demonstrates honesty, resilience, curiosity, and a commitment to supporting all learners.
