Teaching Assistant – Morden
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our primary school team. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education and care to our students, fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment. This role is vital in helping children reach their full potential by providing individualized support, facilitating group activities, and assisting with classroom management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support:
- Assist the classroom teacher in preparing lesson materials and resources.
- Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Monitor and support students during classroom activities and lessons.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior, promoting a positive learning environment.
- Student Assistance:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
- Help students with daily tasks, including reading, writing, and math activities.
- Encourage and support social and emotional development.
- Administrative Duties:
- Help with maintaining student records and progress reports.
- Assist in organizing classroom materials and maintaining a tidy learning environment.
- Perform clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, and preparing teaching aids.
- Supervisory Duties:
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other school activities.
- Ensure student safety and well-being at all times.
- Accompany and assist with school trips and extracurricular activities.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend school events and activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.
