Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant for Year 5, you will work closely with the class teacher to enhance the learning experience of our students. Your role will involve supporting students in their academic activities, helping to manage classroom behavior, and providing tailored support to students who need it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Year 5 teacher in preparing lesson materials and classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to ensure they grasp lesson content.
- Help manage classroom behavior and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) by implementing tailored learning strategies.
- Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school trips.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and report any concerns to the teacher.
- Collaborate with the teacher and other staff to maintain a safe and engaging classroom.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
- A passion for working with children and a commitment to their education and well-being.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive outlook.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, are an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of child safeguarding and health & safety practices.
