Unqualified Behaviour Mentor

Behaviour Mentor | Hanwell, Ealing | £90 – £105 PAYE | Full Time | Immediate Start

Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people who need that extra push to succeed?

Do you have a background in sports, youth work, or as a prison officer — and want to make a real difference in a primary school setting?

We’re working with a vibrant and supportive primary school in Hanwell, Ealing that is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join their team immediately. This full-time opportunity is perfect for someone who has experience working with children with behavioural challenges, particularly boys, and who can be a strong, positive male role model.

The Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils in Key Stage 1 (ages 5–7) who present social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. You’ll use your presence, patience, and practical experience to help them manage emotions, stay on task, and engage positively with learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who display challenging behaviour
  • Use de-escalation strategies and structured support to manage classroom behaviour
  • Deliver tailored activities focused on emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress and update behaviour plans
  • Be a role model – firm but fair, reliable, and consistent

Ideal Background:

We’re especially keen to hear from people with experience in:

  • Sports coaching / team leadership
  • Youth work / mentoring young people
  • Security / prison officer roles
  • SEMH / behaviour support in schools or PRUs

No formal teaching experience required – just a calm, proactive approach and the ability to connect with children who need clear boundaries and strong guidance.

What You’ll Get:

  • Full-time role (Mon-Fri), term-time only
  • Competitive daily rate: £90–£105 PAYE
  • Supportive SLT and pastoral team
  • Regular training and career development opportunities
  • A real chance to make a lasting impact on young lives

This role is ideal for someone who wants to step away from youth offending or physical intervention roles and build a career in education or pastoral care.

Ready to inspire the next generation and be a positive force in a child’s life?
