Ortus Recruitment is excited to announce an amazing opportunity for a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to work within an Ofsted rated ‘good’ primary school. It is located in the London Borough of Barnet – a dynamic and multi-cultural area with an abundance of shops, restaurants, cafes as well as multiple transportation links within walking distance of the school.

The successful Year 1 Teaching Assistant will be responsible for working alongside the classroom teacher to manage behaviour, supervise playtime, promote learning through play, keep the classroom organised and build positive rapports with the children and staff. As well as this, you will need to effectively lead reading and phonics interventions and work 1:1 with children with various Special Educational Needs.

**Candidates must be able to commit to a long-term and full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm)**

The ideal candidate will have:

• A dynamic and motivating approach to teaching
• The ability to work in a team but also take initiative when needed
• Excellent time management and attendance
• Experience working in KS1
• Minimum 2:2 degree or Level 3 qualification
• A can-do attitude

Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
