Our client school in the London Borough of Harrow is seeking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic and resilient individual to support a Year 4 pupil with Autism and attachment issues.

The role:

The role involves supporting a Year 4 child who has been diagnosed with autism and working at a Year 1 level academically, the child also has attachment issues therefore requires a reliable and empathetic indiviudal to build a positive rapport with him. The child needs someone with a compassionate but assertive approach who is able to set boundaries and adapt to new and challenging situations.

The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for offering support by communicating effectively with parents/carers and working with the SENCo to ensure all children can access the curriculum regardless of disadvantages or additional needs.

Main Expectations:

• 3+ months experience supporting children with additional needs
• Minimum 2:2 degree in a relevant subject e.g. maths, English, psychology or education
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
• Have a can-do attitude and passion for supporting SEN children
