Individual profile – Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Hold a teaching qualification or be degree educated
• Previous experience in a primary school with sound knowledge of the curriculum
• SEN experience (highly desirable)
• Friendly, empathetic and motivating
• Attentive to needs of pupils
• Aware of social barriers that pupils may face during their time at school
• reliable and committed fully to each lesson assisted

Responsibilities – Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Aiding the pupils and teacher in the learning environment
• Creating a fun and stimulating supporting environment
• Able to encourage children to be confident in the classroom
• Considering all pupils as individuals and adapting to ensure optimal outcomes for all
• Other requirements such as assisting during lunch times
• All candidates must have (or be willing to apply) a current & valid DBS – Child Workforce on the update service and 2 references to be taken in consideration for any of the roles.
